Extra Curricular Activities

DAV College provides ample opportunities for the all round and harmonious development of the personality of the students. There are a large number of college clubs and associations which cater to the artistic and aesthetic sensibilities of the young scholars . Every effort is made to develop and exploit their poetic and elocutionary talent, literary interest and cultural aptitude. 

A number of Subject - Societies, associations, and clubs actively function in the college. These societies organize very useful extra-curricular activities, such as lectures by eminent scholars. Inter College declamation and paper reading contest, debates, poetical symposia variety shows etc.

Following societies and clubs are working in the college:

  • The Hindi Sahitya Parishad

  • The Punjabi Sahitya Parishad

  • The Bhabha Physics Association 

  • The H.G. Khurana Chemical Society

  • The Birbal Sahni Biological Society

  • The Lalit Kala Kendra

  • The commerce Association

  • Arya Yuvak Samaj

  • The Mathematics Association

  • Mahila Club

  • Dayanand Study Circle

Every student is expected to become a member of any two of the societies or clubs. It is compulsory for  the girl students to become members of Mahila club. They can select one more society according to their choice.

National Cadet Corps:

Facilities for N.C.C training, parades and camps are available for those who voluntarily take up N.C.C. Students get ample opportunities to attend training camps and specialized camps like Advanced Leadership, Mountaineering and other inter state camps. N.C.C. cadets are trained for 'B' and 'C' certificate exams.

National Service Scheme:

The college has three units for boys and girls under the control of Punjabi University, Patiala. The scheme is aimed at familiarizing the youth with the environment of our community and its needs. It inculcates in students the spirit of placing service before self and the country above all.

The distinguished N.S.S. volunteers are given incentives and additional marks in various professional and higher classes for getting admission.
